Unreal Engine 5 & 4 · How to use

CharGen

Drop a character into your level, configure its parts, and build reusable presets — here's the whole workflow.

Quick start

Using CharGen characters

  1. Add BP_CharGenCharacter to your level — Game/CharGen/CharGen_Base/Blueprints/BP_CharGenCharacter.
  2. Configure the Character Parts using the meshes you need, in the BP_CharGenCharacter properties.
  3. Done!

Configuring character presets

  1. Create children of BP_ChargenPackBase.
  2. Set up CharacterPresets in the Default group of your newly created BP_ChargenPackBase.
  3. Add a reference to this actor in BP_CHARGEN → CharacterPacks.
  4. Done!
Works with the Marketplace. CharGen is compatible with most modular and single characters from the UE Marketplace that are rigged to the UE Skeleton — add or remove parts, accessorize, and tint any element with the included color & hue pickers.
